After expanding our original retail concept, Edge of Urge, to a second location in Raleigh in 2015, we quickly realized the opportunity to expand our offerings even further. The response to our limited Men's offerings in the Raleigh Edge of Urge store was overwhelming. We continually received requests for more from this collection.

With our incredible customers on our side, we moved our Men's offerings into a former bike repair shop in the basement of the building across the street from Edge of Urge. This shop blossomed into the latest concept from the Edge of Urge family -- Unlikely Professionals. We took this opportunity to lean into our background in craftsmanship, making a space that felt truly unique and offered unexpected products.

Thanks to our loyal fan base, we were able to weather the uncertainty of the Covid 19 pandemic and continue doing what we love. In November of 2024, we celebrated five years of Unlikely Professionals. During that time, we cheersed with neighbors at the bar, hosted workshops and events for the community to gather, and introduced our little slice of the world to some truly killer brands. Those years shaped who we are and laid the foundation for everything that followed.

Growth is not always linear. When unforeseen building issues forced us to close our original location, we leaned into the momentum we had already created. While the decision was bittersweet, it pushed us to focus forward. Before that door officially closed, we opened a second Unlikely Professionals location in the North Hills Innovation District. What began as an expansion quickly became our next chapter. A new space, a new rhythm, and the same commitment to craft, community, and unexpected finds that’s been there from the start.
